ARC Simple IRA Plan Sponsor Site For Brothers who Shoot

A number of Epsilon brothers enjoy firearms. These pages are a way for us to get together and share our hobby. Non-shooting brothers who are curious or would like to try their hand are also encouraged to participate.

We maintain the TopGun mailing list which we use to keep up on current events. You can subscribe by sending an empty mail message to the mailing list manager.

Bullseye activities are currently being coordinated by Joe Gugliemino '83 (jgoogs@charter.net). Feel free to contact him with any comments and suggestions.

Current Activities:

We have a number of activities planned or in the works. These events are open to all brothers of any experience level. Click on the links for more details.

  • CMP Match. Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) matches are a fun way to qualify to purchase your own M-1 Garand from the US government.  My club, Riverside Gun Club in Hudson, has several CMP matches a year. Other clubs in the area sponsor them as well.  Matches are typically open to the public.  If brothers are interested we could coordinate and find a match that several of us could attend.  We did it a few years ago and had a great time.
  • Top Gun Shoot. Date, location TBD. The event that started it all. We're planning a day at the range where we can get together to shoot. Bring your own guns, try out your brother's, and participate in the competition for Epsilon Top Gun.
  • Epsilon Eliminator. We're tossing around ideas for a day of Paintball some time in the fall. Your input is welcome as we decide the details. Should this be an alumni only event? Should we challenge the actives? ROTC against the rest of the world? Beat on the Civils? We need the answers to all these questions and more!

Interesting Links:

The following links are starting points for people interested in shooting.

  • Rec.Guns. The newsgroup for all that shoots. Check out their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or Read the newsgroup.
  • The National Rifle Association (NRA). Demonized by politicians and the media, the NRA has an unjustified reputation as the evil empire. Find out their positions firsthand and see why they are the forefront of the national fight to preserve our rights as gun owners.
  • Gun Owners of America An even more uncompromising defender of your right to own firearms. Unlike the NRA, GOA has not been making meaningless conciliatory gestures towards gun controllers.
  • Gun Owners Action League (GOAL) The state shooting association for MA gun owners. Given the lousy political climate in the Bay State, GOAL has been actively working to repeal the screw job (also known as Chapter 180) MA gun owners got under the guise of an "assault weapons" ban. In addition to the endless work they do on the legislative front, they also coordinate many of the clubs and competitions held in the state. If you own a gun and live in MA, you should be a member of GOAL.
  • And speaking of those oppressive MA gun laws , look here to see what they are. So you think "assault weapons" were banned last year? Find out what really happened to gun owners. It'll piss you off so much that you'll be running to join GOAL.
  • Like to talk about guns? Maybe just listen? The MA-Firearms mailing list is a place where you can chew the fat. Posts are often politically oriented, as many of the subscribers are active in the fight to keep our rights. The list is also a font of knowledge for questions about the nearest range, best gun store, which .45 to buy, etc. Traffic from the list is typically high, so you may prefer to receive the digest. To subscribe, send a message to majordomo@world.std.com, with "subscribe ma-firearms" or "subscribe ma-firearms-digest" in the body of the message.

Arm all or None

I'd be interested in paintball. If we had enough people it would be the balls.
I think alumni vs actives would be fun and would be willing to kick in a little
extra to bring down the cost to the actives. Let us know more!

Anyone interested in the next CMP? I'd hate to go alone.
